I believe in a world where we can live our wildest dreams.
About Me
Author, Creative Coach, & Intuitive Guide
Hey, I'm Jess!
In December 2024, I quit my corporate job to live my wildest dream—becoming a published author. Because I believe life is too short not to DREAM BIG and do what we LOVE. What I didn't realize was by choosing myself and trusting my intuition, I was led on a much larger creative and spiritual journey that changed the course of my life.
I can happily say, I am now that published author! My storytelling blends fantasy and spirituality into genre-bending explorations of life, love, and the invisible threads that connect us all. I'm endlessly inspired by the cycles of nature, the resilience of the human spirit, and the mystery of the unseen forces that guide us home to ourselves. Drawing inspiration from my own personal journey, I write stories that blur the line between the mystical and the everyday—reminding readers that magic is not something to be found, but something to be remembered.

Before stepping fully into my creative calling, I built a diverse career as a nonprofit founder, city council member, and educator. My work has always centered on community, connection, and the belief that small acts can ripple outward to create a more compassionate world. Now, I continue that mission—helping others remember their magic, imagine what is possible, and live their wildest dreams, through writing, speaking engagements, and creative coaching.
When I'm not lost in a story or mentoring others, you can find me baking sourdough, foraging for wild edibles, dancing barefoot in the kitchen, or spending time with my partner, our kids, cat, and dog in Missouri.

My Purpose
For as long as I can remember, I’ve imagined a world rooted in love, compassion for one another, and a connection to the Earth. Some have called me unrealistic or naive. I like to think of myself as a visionary, able to see a world that doesn't exist yet.
My purpose is to help bring that vision to life, through personal, creative, and spiritual transformation. It starts in the small moments, quiet revolutions, and individual awakenings, each of us remembering our voice, our power, and our magic. Myself included!

I’ve always carried stories in my heart, and now I’m finally bringing them into the world.
My debut novel, Woven in Time, came out in December 2025. The first in a spiritual fantasy trilogy, it follows three women connected to a thousand-year-old prophecy that dares them to question everything, forge their own destinies, and follow what whispers in their souls.

Because we are far more magical than we imagined.
My Background
I hold a B.A. in Anthropology and Human Rights and an M.A. in Multicultural Education. Early in my career, I worked in refugee resettlement, where I fell in love with helping people from all over the world. Witnessing their resilience fueled my passion to co-create a more compassionate, just world.

Then in 2009, I planted my first tomato, and everything changed. That simple act awakened my connection to our Earth and sparked a new chapter. I launched The Mindful Tomato, an urban farm, and discovered my entrepreneurial spark! Soon after, my then-husband and I had our son and felt a call to live more sustainably. In 2012, we gave away everything but a backpack and a baby and traveled from the Midwest to South America, guided only by Spirit. We worked on organic farms, explored intentional communities, and returned to Missouri with hearts full and minds transformed.

Back home, I started my second business: Take Root Café, a nonprofit pay-what-you-can café serving local, organic food to everyone, regardless of income. It quickly became a community hub for food justice, connection, and social change. In 2017, I was elected to city council and served a three-year term. But by 2020, everything unraveled, my marriage ended, the café closed during COVID, and I lost my seat on the council.

It sounds like an ending, but it was just another beginning.

That same year, I wrote the first draft of my novel Woven in Time, a story about three women who, like me, had lost themselves and found their power within. It was that spark that reignited my voice, my creativity, and my purpose.
Now, in 2025, I’m fully living the path that calls me. I write a Substack newsletter, Wildest Dreams, sharing my journey of becoming a published author while inspiring others to follow their soul’s whispers and live a life they love.

I live in Missouri with my partner, my son, my stepdaughter, our cuddly cat Moon, and our loyal dog Jake. When I’m not writing or dreaming up new ideas, you’ll find me baking sourdough, dancing barefoot in the kitchen, or pondering the mysteries of the universe.

If you’ve made it this far—thank you! Your support means everything.
As always, keep dreaming,
Jess
